DESCRIPTION:

Awesome ULTRA RARE Lot of Pastel Blue to Santa Maria Blue CATS EYE Cabbing Rough & Faceting Rough Aquamarine Rough from Nigeria. This lot represents some of the fruits of our labor on our recent Trip to Nigeria and we are hopeful of establishing a steady supply of this in the future. This lot is being sold as a mix with roughly 30% being Medium to High Grade Faceting Rough and the remainder being Cabbing Rough. Roughly 1/2 of the Cabbing Rough does exhibit Chatoyancy and we are confident that with proper orientation you will be able to produce some lovely RARE Cat's Eye cabs from this lot. We had 1 stone cut as a sample to ensure that the material did Cat's Eye and we were very pleased with the results considering the great price we have on this!

The material is very transparent and you may just want to facet much of the material as the Chatoyancy is really visible only on certain sides and with proper orientation you may be able to hide its effects altogether from the face up view. We of course would suggest faceting with the Chatoyancy fibers perpendicular to the Table facet if this is your goal as that should mask up the effects from the face up view; however, we would recommend going for a Cat's Eye whenever possible.

We are confident that you will get some killer stones out of this lot with a little effort. This Lot is largely composed of nice and chunky crystals and/or crystal sections capable of giving above average weight returns. Please note this is premium sized material with the average stone weighing in around 12 CARATS! This is a great deal as we don't really know anyone who is selling this material at this price IN Nigeria at the moment! How can you go wrong at $1.00 Per CARAT!!!!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Nigeria has been producing some of the darkest Aquamarine available in the market and has begun to eclipse some of the traditional deposits in Latin America and Eastern Europe in volume. Many of the Sea-Foam stones from Nigeria also treat to a beautiful icy to medium dark blue in color (depending on the depth of the Sea-Foam color).
