DESCRIPTION:

Awesome Lot of NATURAL untreated Golden Yellow to Medium Blue Green Aquamarine Faceting  Rough from Mozambique. PLEASE NOTE: The color of this material is much better than the above pictures indicate. We are pretty confident this material is from Mozambique; however, there is a possibility that it is from Southern Tanzania and/or even a mixture of both localities. Overall the lot is running roughly 85%+ High to Top Facet Grade. The bulk of this parcel is composed of nice chunky crystal sections ideally shaped for high yield; however, some stones do have some inclusions that you will have to work around to produce the cleanest stones possible. This is NOT small material with the average stone weight running almost 9 CARATS!!!

The lot overall really is a mix of the whole spectrum that Aquamarine is found in with the bulk of the material being a nice Medium Sea-Foam Green along with a few pieces that would more rightly be called Heliodor. We did a CRUDE open flame heating run on a stone from this parcel which produced a predominantly Blue color. There are no guarantees on what the results will be on heating this parcel; however, from our past experience with this particular material proper heating generally removes Green and Yellow tints and/or overtones.

We only have a limited amount of this material on hand and are just liquidating it to make room for incoming rough shipments lined up for the next few months. We are blowing this out at $1.40 Per Carat and are confident  you couldn't buy it any cheaper IN East Africa!!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Aquamarine mining in Mozambique has been extremely limited as most miners have migrated over to Mavuco in search of Paraiba Tourmaline. Most of the mining activity in Mozambique has shifted over to Mavuco as Paraiba prices continue to climb; however, we are hearing of miners returning to other deposits due to limited production in Mavuco. We don't know how long it will be before we see a steady supply of Aquamarine coming from Mozambique again; however, the prices don't seem to want to come down.
