DESCRIPTION:

This is a SUPER lot of Spessartite and/or Hessonite Garnet coming from Afghanistan. The color of this material is just phenomenal and runs from a lovely almost Mandarin Orange to a fiery Tangerine with Red Flashes! This lot represents the best material we have seen to date!!!

Please be aware that this rough is a mixture of Spessartite and/or Hessonite (Possibly other Garnets as well) which are generally included species of Garnet. It is extremely difficult to acquire eye-clean to flawless rough in either species. Most of this material WILL cut eye-clean to slightly included stones. These inclusions should NOT significantly impact the cleaner finished stones. This lot is running roughly 80%+ High Facet Grade and there are some KILLER stones in here with the bulk looking like they will yield eye-clean to very slightly included finished gems. The clarity on this material is generally very similar to your TYPICAL Nigerian and Namibian Mandarin Garnet; however, this lot is composed of very glassy pieces like we have never seen come from Afghanistan before!
