This is a super lot of a fairly NEW FIND of Hessonite Garnet coming from Afghanistan. The color of this material runs from a fiery Mandarin Orange to a Tangerine with a few Orangey Reds thrown in! Please be aware that this rough may be a mixture of Spessartite and/or Hessonite (Possibly other Garnets as well) which are generally included species of Garnet.

It is extremely difficult to acquire eye-clean to flawless rough in either species particularly in this color range. This lot represents some of the BETTER of this material we have seen to date and these are very chunky pieces for the deposit.

Most of this material WILL cut very slightly included finished stones at best; however, the color on these truly is a sight to behold and we are confident that many inclusions will mask up well because of the high RI of the material. This lot is running roughly 70%+ High to Top Facet Grade and there are some KILLER stones in here.
