DESCRIPTION:

Awesome ULTRA RARE Afghan Hackmanite Faceting Rough Lot! We were EXTREMELY lucky to come across this rough and were thrilled at the clarity. This is some of the cleanest material we have procured in over a year! The lot overall is running roughly 75% or so High to Top Facet Grade and we are confident that most of the stones in here will support eye-clean to slightly included finished stones.

There are a few stones that are really cabbing grade in the lot but as a while the quality is some of the best we have been able to offer. The color ranges from a Purplish Pink or Pinkish Purple to Silver and most of these stones should cut in the 1+ carat range with a little hard work at the eye-clean to very slightly included level. If you do a little research in the market place you will see that Hackmanite Gems command some pretty wild numbers and this lot is a give away at this price. We ONLY have a few lots of this available at this time so don't miss your chance to own some of this! We don't know if we will ever get any more of this material so for all you collectors this is a win win situation!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Hackmanite is known to change color by exposure to different forms of light and its color change is known to be tenebresent. The color of the material at times can be enhanced by storage in a dark place; however, may fade upon exposure to light. This change is repeatable and not permanent. In addition, Hackmanite also produces some wild colors under UV light and is highly sought after by collectors.

  2. Hackmanite Facet Rough is a transparent variety of Sodalite that is "tenebresent" and is extremely rare to come across. Afghanistan has been a steady supplier to mineral enthusiasts for Hackmanite crystals and we have rarely come upon any facet grade material.
