DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular lot of Afghan Indicolite running from a Neon Electric Blue to a Teal colored slightly Greenish Blue. These stones have been hand selected for cutting and this is another lot that is ideal for either cutting or select rough resale! The color on these stones is just profound and there are a few breathtaking Electric Blues in here like I have rarely seen before. Please note that their are two stones in here that are more on the Green End; however, the lot as a whole is predominantly Indicolite. This is the material that you see retailing for $12.00 a carat+!

This is TOP TOP faceting grade material having all the bad stones picked out and there are quite a few killer pieces in here. We are confident you will get a several stones from this lot that go over 1.5 carat at the eye-clean+ level. Most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
