DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular Lot of Neon Bluish Green to Neon Turquoise Paraiba Blue colored Tourmaline Faceting Rough from Afghanistan. OK, this has to be some of the most SMOKING colored Tourmaline we have seen in quite some time at an unbelievable price! 90%+ of this has an open C axis and most stones are chunky crystal sections and nodules (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline).

The material overall is eye-clean to very slightly included; however, roughly 90%+ of this lot looks to be nice high facet grade material with most stones capable of cutting eye-clean or better with relative ease. Some of the material has the most awesome Neon Blue-Green and Neon Green color and you will undoubtedly desire more of this after this lot. There are quite a few nice Blue/Green bicolors in here as well making the lot a must have. The material overall is averaging about 3+ carats and our price on this is a giveaway! This is one of the best colored lots we currently have up and it is one of our best deals likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
