Spectacular Lot of Scope Green to Cobalt Blue Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. OK, this has to be some of the most SMOKING colored Tourmaline we have been able to offer at $2.00 Per Carat!!!! The bulk of this has an open C axis and most stones are chunky crystal sections (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). The material overall is eye-clean and roughly 90%+ of this lot looks to be nice high to top facet grade material with most stones capable of cutting eye-clean or better with a little hard work. The material overall is a bit small averaging about 2.5 carats; however, our price on this is a giveaway! This is one of the best priced lots we currently have up and it is one of our best deals likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
