Awesome lot of Pastel Pink to Minty Bluish Green Afghan Tourmaline Faceting & Cabbing Rough. This material has some of the most breathtaking pastel colors available and the material is very similar in color and appearance to the Pastel Tourmalines that are sporadically produced in Maine. There is even a nice bicolor in the parcel that runs from a Minty almost Sea-Foam Green to a Pale Pink.

The lot is running roughly 25% High Facet grade with the remainder being TOP TOP Cabbing Grade and/or Semi-Facet/Facet Grade depending on your taste.  Almost all of these are chunky nodules and/or crystal sections (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). 1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
