Unusual odd lot of Minty Yellowish Green to Olive Green Tourmaline from Tanzania? This material was mixed in with a large batch of Chrome Tourmaline we recently purchased; however, this material doesn't do anything under a Chelsea filter. To top it off, some of this material looks very similar to a new find of Tourmaline in northern Mozambique. Some of this material may not even be Tourmaline either as Tanzania's alluvial deposits have a little of everything mother nature created. Some of these may be Chrysoberyls as that is the only thing I can think of with this color. Nevertheless, the material is extremely clean with roughly 60%+ being High to Top Facet Grade and most of it is shaped for high yield. We are just blowing this out as an odd lot up for liquidation.

Sunset Tourmaline is just one of the new finds that is coming from Tanzania and also Kenya and the material is quite unlike any other Green and/or Orange Tourmaline available in the market. Tanzanian Sunset Tourmaline is characterized by a strong dichroism where the AB and C axis have a combination of colors running from a Golden Orange to a Golden Yellow and/or Grassy Green. Many stones produce unusual finished gems due to this dichroism and are highly sought after by collectors.
