Awesome lot of Neon Bluish Green to Turquoise Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. The lot as a whole is running roughly 65% High to Top Facet Grade while the remainder is mostly Facet to Semi Facet Grade.

These are chunky crystal sections shaped for high yield and practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline! Depending on yield preferences the bulk of these stones will cut Eye-Clean to Slightly Included finished gems and we are confident there are some lovely gems just waiting to come out of here.

These stones were culled out of a large parcel because they were NOT completely clean; however, this is high grade material with all the stones in the parcel being very gemmy and capable of supporting eye-clean or better finished gemstones if they are sawed up and cut for clarity. We are confident that just one faceted stone from the parcel will pay for the lot. This is a close-out and well discounted so grab this before someone beats you to it!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
