DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of mostly Neon Green Afghan Tourmaline Crystal Scepters. Most of these scepters are doubly terminated perfect crystals with sharp edges. The bulk of these scepters tend to have lovely striations running down the caps with fully etched stems while some crystals even exhibit an unusual Chatoyancy towards their bases.

Please note that most of these crystals are not overly included and a significant percentage of them could easily be classified as facet grade; however, this lot is considerably more valuable in its crystal form and we do NOT advise cutting this material. If you take a few minutes out to look around on the web you will see the insane prices these guys command! We are selling these AS CRYSTALS and they should be purchased as such!

Afghan Tourmaline scepters are extremely rare and we have seen single crystals sell for several thousand dollars a piece when the size gets large. We were extremely lucky to be able to purchase this lot which represents the best of most of a small pocket discovery. From our understanding we purchased the entire pocket and we don't know of anyone else selling Tourmaline Scepters from Afghanistan other than a miscellaneous crystal or two that may be in the market. Most of these scepters are not huge; however, these are a steal at this price and we are confident this is one of the best bargains we have!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
