DESCRIPTION:

Awesome lot of Pastel Pink Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. The parcel as a whole was selected out of a very large parcel for shape, clarity and color. Most of these will not cut eye-clean or better finished stones without very significant weight loss; however, the inclusions in these stones are very minor and you should still be able to facet stones that face-up very nicely. As can be seen in the above pictures, the inclusions are barely noticeable without close inspection.

All of these are chunky nodules and/or crystal sections (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). These are all a nice size with the average stone weight running almost 10 CARATS!

Please note that most of the stones in this lot will cut very slightly included at BEST. All of these stones do have very minor inclusions at the least; however, with proper orientation and a little hard work we are confident you will take out some spectacular stones from this parcel. Were this material completely clean we could not sell it for less than 2 times the price! Don't miss your opportunity to purchase this spectacular lot at a very heavy discount!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
