DESCRIPTION:

New Find of Spectacular almost Jade Green Diopside Cabbing & Crystal Rough from Badakshan, Afghanistan. This material has an extremely unusual color that initially confused everyone locally as to what the stone was. The bulk of this is cabbing rough though there were some small sections that looked like they would support Faceting; however, the lot is being sold as Cabbing rough and is priced as such. This is another oddity that came by us and we are adding it to our E-Newsletter for a little variety. At the price there really is no way that you can go wrong at picking it up. We have  been trying to hunt down some cleaner material; however, from what we are told the material is not coming out in Facet Grade form. The bulk of this lot is composed of Crystals and Crystal sections with some Terminations visible and may be good for the Crystal collector or for Metaphysical purposes. We don't plan on stocking more of this so advise on purchasing it quick before someone beats you to it!

COOL FACTS:
  1. There is a very limited amount of Diopside being produced in Pakistan. There are a few locations in Pakistan that produce Diopside though most is either too dark or seldom clean; however, one can occasionally see an odd lot in the market that is deserving of being called Facet Grade. Most Diopside from Pakistan and Afghanistan does not contain Chromium and is NOT Chrome Diopside as such. Some Diopside from the Pakistan location is also known to exhibit color banding that is very unusual for Diopside.
