Awesome lot of Pastel Yellow to Stewart Pink Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. Most of these are nice fairly large chunky crystal sections (Many of the stones in here are practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline). After a quick run through the lot we estimate that roughly 65% of this material is Top Facet Grade with the remainder being a mixture of Facet and Cab Grade. After carefully cobbing and sawing up the remaining 35% you may end up with roughly 75%+ Top Facet Grade Rough from this lot. This lot is priced to sell as it is the cheapest we have ever priced Afghan Tourmaline in this size and quality range so don't miss out.

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
