DESCRIPTION:

Super lot of Top Minty Pastel Grape to Stewart Pink Afghan Tourmaline faceting rough. This is a great lot of mostly pastel colors with the occasional bicolor. Most stones are nice and vibrant with some stones that get a little more intense than being a pastel color. Overall the lot is roughly 80%+ Top Facet Grade material with a few stones that may be very slightly to slightly included; however, almost every stone in this lot should produce an eye-clean or better finished gem with a little hard work. These are all a nice size with the average being around 8 carats.

This is the material that you see retailing for $10.00+ per carat! Most of this lot is composed of TOP faceting grade material and there are quite a few killer pieces in here. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky crystal section capable of giving above average yield. This is one of our best deals and likely to go quick so don't pass this by! This lot is priced very close to local market value and at $3.50 per carat there really is no way you can lose on this!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
