DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular lot of 2 Afghan Tourmalines running from a lovely Paraiba Blue to an Electric Neon Blue. This is some of the best colored material we have seen coming from Afghanistan in a very long time as far as Blues are considered. The price on this material usually makes it untouchable in the local markets; however, we were lucky to have this come by us at a reasonable price. The color on this material is top with very little Green Overtones; however, the quality of this material will floor you. If these stones were just a little bigger we wouldn't be selling these for less than $50.00 per carat so this is a BARGAIN for the right person.  If we were providing these direct from New York the price on these would be $50 Per Carat. I'm confident that both of these stones should yield eye-clean or better finished gems with a little hard work with above average yield.

These are a SUPER lovely shade of Blue and both stones are chunky crystal sections practically preformed because of the crystal structure of Tourmaline. This is some of the  best colored faceting grade Tourmaline you are likely to run into in quite some time at a decent price! This is the best colored lot we currently have up and it is one of our best deals likely to go quick so don't pass this by!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
