DESCRIPTION:

Super lot of unusual Top Lemonade Yellow to Hot Pink Afghan Tourmaline nodule faceting rough. This is a great lot of mostly bright colors with most stones in here being Nodules. Most stones are nice and vibrant. Overall the lot is roughly 95%+ Top Facet Grade material with a few stones that may be very slightly to slightly included; however, almost every stone in this lot should produce an eye-clean or better finished gem with a little hard work. The average weight for the lot is a bit deceptive due to a small percentage of the lot being composed of a small stones. If you took out roughly 20% of the smallest stones in the lot the average weight would probably almost double!

This is the material that you see retailing for $8.00+ per carat! Most of this lot is composed of TOP faceting grade material and there are quite a few killer pieces in here with 3 or 4 large clean stones that are easily worth the price of the lot. Practically every stone in the lot is a nice and chunky nodule capable of giving above average yield. This is one of our best deals and likely to go quick so don't pass this by! This lot is priced very close to local market value and at $2.00 per carat there really is no way you can lose on this!

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
