DESCRIPTION:

This is a Ghani SPECIAL! We have listed several lots up on our site that are the property of Mr. Hazrat Ghani. Hazrat Ghani has been supplying some of the largest Tourmaline dealers in the world with their rough from Afghanistan for a very long time and he is known out here in Pakistan as one of the Tourmaline Kingpins. Ghani's specialty is being able to acquire the rare lovely Tourmaline colors that don't ever enter the rough markets outside of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

This is an awesome lot of Aqua Blue to Sea-Foam Green Afghan Tourmaline Faceting Rough. This lot is really indicative of the best Afghanistan has to offer in Tourmaline quality and it is roughly 90% TOP faceting grade material. Most of the stones in this lot will cut eye-clean or better with the bulk being able to facet 10x clean. Most stones are nice and bright and should hold their color well once cut. Most of these pieces are killer nodules capable of giving above average yield. This is a great cutter lot that is priced VERY reasonably so if you are interested we would advise you to move quickly.

COOL FACTS:
  1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color & quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

  2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
