Lovely Afghan Indicolite Tourmaline lot for Cabbing and possibly some Faceting in a variety of Blue and Greenish Blue colors. Most of this lot is composed of bright Neon Blue & Greenish Blue to Electric Blue stones with a few cool Bicolored Blue-Green stones with 80+ of the material have an open C axis. This is not the excessively included Opaque cabbing material you see abundantly in the market and most stones are extremely transparent with silk inclusions and veils. I would say that roughly 75% of this material is Cabbing grade being slightly included to moderately included; however, there are a few stones in here that are semi-facet and/or facet grade. Most stones in this lot are crystals sections and will support higher yields. This lot is being sold as strictly cabbing grade and is priced as such; however, I think this is another lot you can't go wrong with for the price!

1. Afghan Tourmaline pockets tend to be relatively small in size and as a result consistency in color& quality is a rarity! We have never seen Afghan Tourmaline sold by the kilo with like colored and quality material and lots are generally small in size seldom going over 1/2-1 kilo.

2. All Afghan Tourmaline is exhumed from primary deposits and as a result mining costs are considerably higher due to dynamite expenditures and traveling expenditures to get to remote mining areas. It is also interesting to note that since all Afghan Tourmaline is from primary deposits most rough will usually have sharp crystal faces.
