The Rhodolite is beautiful...as described, and clean... There were a few pieces that I would grade vsi and vvs... The rest were flawless and excellent color...Shape was kind to maximum yield... a good thing. As you realize, most parcels have odd shaped crystals with basically no good yield... I am very pleased...

I selected 40 ct. worth of cutters that I hope to get about 27 VVS to IF stones to finish around 0.5 ct each. A local jeweler said he'd take these set in sterling and retail the rings for $75 each and keep $25 for himself from each sale. After paying $10 for each setting, I'll get about $40 to cover the 20-30 minutes of cutting. Not a bad deal really.

The rest I'll probably retail individually. It'll give me some good spending money for your next E-newsletter.

Probably until summer when school is out and teachers like myself get the summer off to relax, then I will begin to cut again. ...Those topaz crystals were very nice and I got some clean champagne stones from them, including a 12X16 pear...But the best-looking crystals that were well terminated I could not bring myself to cut-they really were specimen grade because the crystals were so well formed. I think they will be more valuable to show my customers what the roughs look like, and how things slowly "grow" in the Earth!

Just to let you know that the parcel of Bastnaesite rough arrived yesterday. I am absolutely delighted with it - every single piece shows the rare-earth spectrum. And many of the pieces appear to be very clean. The parcel is an absolute bargain for the price! Incidentally, thank you for putting a lower value on the declaration form - the parcel was picked up by the UK customs, but they only charged tax on the $100 value you put on the form. I'll let you know how things go with the cutting.

The material is Gorgeous! I love the Nigerian Tourmalines - all the colors are fantastic. The Enstatite is unique, the pieces are huge, it will be fun to play with. The Diopside is going to be fun with both crystal specimens and faceting rough. The pink Spinel looks hot - it is incredibly clean and blocky material. The Zoisite is incredible: I was not expecting such large pieces. I have never seen color like the pink/violet sapphire - that is some hot material.
